Established in 1993 as a branch of ZPS A.S., ZPS-GO has become a company on its own after the acquisition by TAJMAC. ZPS-GO reconditions and updates used multi-spindle lathes which are not necessarily of ZPS make. Gildemeister’s, Schuette’s and Wickmans are among these, in fact the reconditioning and updating of WICKMAN multi-spindles is the specialty of ZPS-GO. The reconditioning of a multi-spindle requires more work and greater skills than the assembly of a new one and it must be ZPS-GO performed by highly experienced technicians who must be capable of evaluating, for each component of the used machine, if and how it can be recycled or replaced. Before being reinstalled, and if possible and necessary, each component is machined until its dimensions and tolerances conform to those of the original design.
The technical specifications and the performances of the machines can be drastically improved on the originals by installing electronic devices (PLC, continuous speed range drives for spindles and feed) which were not available at the time the machines were first manufactured. 80 persons, one third of whom are highly qualified technicians, recondition an average of 50 machines each year. After a reconditioning procedure which can require up to 5-6 months, the reconditioned, updated and CE-certified lathes are offered to customers with the same warranty as new machines. ...And it might happen that twenty years from now, perhaps, some of these machines will go back to ZPS-GO to be given a new life again.
